Let's talk.
We take on a very limited number of projects at a time.
If you think we might be a good fit, or even if you're not sure yet, reach out. We're happy to have a conversation over coffee or a video call.

Shawn Dearn
Social impact storyteller and award-winning bilingual broadcaster. Over 25 years, Shawn has led strategic communications across government, media, agriculture policy, and the not-for-profit sector, from the Canadian Parliamentary Press Gallery and CJAD to running the only national radio network in post-war Bosnia and Herzegovina. Shawn is the creator and host of the Canadian Podcast Award-winning Queer Legends: An Oral History and The True Story of Canada's LGBT Purge, both produced by Secret Agents. He is now a sought-after expert on the Purge and its impact on LGBTQ+ communities.
Ian Capstick
Social impact strategist, textile artist, and podcast host. Ian spent eight seasons as a political analyst on CBC's Power & Politics and helped lead communications for the closing events and reports of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. He was an advisor to Gord Downie and the Wenjack family during Secret Path, and a Teaching Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania's Center for Social Impact Strategy. Ian is a community-taught quilter, weaver, and banner maker, and hosts Art Against Empire, a documentary podcast about artists using craft as resistance.
Together, we built Secret Agents for people who make things.
We bring the strategic thinking that national campaigns and political war rooms demand, but we work with artists, artisans, and craftspeople who are ready to grow. No handoffs. No junior team. Just us.
What to expect.
Most of our projects start with a conversation. We'll ask about your work, what you're trying to build, and where you're stuck. From there we figure out what makes sense together, whether that's a brand strategy, a podcast, a campaign, or something we haven't thought of yet.
Who we work with.
- Artists and craftspeople ready to reach a wider audience
- Artisans and makers building a sustainable creative practice
- Organizations and collectives rooted in craft, culture, or social impact
- Startups and social enterprises in the creative economy
- Sustainable product companies in Quebec
