A queer-owned creative accelerator in Montréal.

You shouldn't have to choose between making the work and getting it seen.

That's where we come in. We're Shawn Dearn and Ian Capstick. We’re the Secret Agents who help artists, craftspeople and creatives find their voice and put it to work with award-winning audio, creative direction, brand positioning and media production.

What we do.

We do brand positioning, communications strategy, and media production for artists and craftspeople. We also help with the business stuff most creatives avoid, like revenue models, audience development, and figuring out how to talk about what you make so the right people find it and buy it.

Creative and business vision for makers & artists.

Creative Co-Direction

We co-develop the creative and business vision and see it through. Plans, campaigns, content series, visual identity, editorial direction and messaging. We work with artists, craftspeople, businesses, organizations, and even startups to build a creative language and business processes that are your own.

Award-winning documentary and media production.

Media Production

Our team won the Canadian Podcast Award for Outstanding Documentary. We produce oral histories, narrative audio series, documentary projects, branded podcasts, and media content. We handle the full production cycle from development and research through recording, editing, and distribution. Our latest project is Art Against Empire, a documentary series about art and craft as political resistance.

Know what you stand for. Then say it.

Brand Positioning

You already know what you make is awesome. The problem comes when you try to sell it. We work on brand positioning, messaging frameworks, and communications planning. The foundations that make everything else easier. So when you launch a new product, publish a report, or pitch a funder, it all sounds like it's coming from the same voice.

How we work. And, why it matters.

  • Built for artists, craftspeople and creatives.

Artists, craftspeople and creatives change how people see the world. We believe that work deserves the same strategic support that corporations get, without the corporate bullshit or prices.

  • Queer-owned. Explicitly intersectional.

This isn't a line in a diversity statement. We're a married queer couple. It shapes who we work with, what stories we prioritize, and how we show up. Fair warning: we only work with fabulous people.

  • Bilingual by default, multilingual as needed.

We work in English and French, and frankly, whatever other language you need to produce content in. In Montréal, that's not a feature. It should be a basic requirement.

  • Small studio, on purpose.

We have no junior account managers, no handoffs. You work with us. That means faster decisions, fewer meetings about meetings, and strategy and creative work with a sharper point of view.

  • Rooted in Montréal.

We live and work in the West Island of Montreal. We built our studio and garden where we built our life. That matters to us, and it shows up in how we engage with the communities around us.

  • Designed to be affordable.

We keep costs lower than many because the people doing the best work rarely have the biggest budgets. If you're making something awesome, you shouldn't go broke telling people about it.

It's always worth a conversation to see if we can help. Reach out!
